UNBOUND2! SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE: APRIL 1st

UnBound2!  - An Invitational & Juried Exhibition
July 5th – August 3, 2013

Candela Books + Gallery announces our second annual invitational and juried exhibition: UnBound2! The summer exhibition will feature work from a wide range of contemporary fine art photographers. An UnBound2! gala (as in galactic) event, will raise funds to purchase select works from the exhibition. Works purchased by Candela through this event will subsequently be included in the Candela Collection.

The mission of the Candela Collection is to support photographers through the purchase of original photographic work and to actively pursue opportunities to donate said works to notable permanent collections.

UnBound! generates opportunities and exposure beyond the traditional group or juried show. Our hope is that photographers will support us by their active participation just as we hope to support their work and careers in return. All accepted photographers will have their work featured at Candela Books + Gallery, a gallery space in the downtown arts district of Richmond, Virginia.

For a look at last year’s exhibition, go here: UnBound! 2012

The third annual (e)merge art fair will take place October 3 – 6, 2013, in Washington, DC, at the Rubell Family’s Capitol Skyline Hotel.

(e)merge is the only art fair that gives free exhibition space to artists without gallery representation. If you are an artist who is currently unrepresented by a gallery and has not yet had a solo exhibition in a major museum or Kunsthalle, (e)merge is your forum for discovery.

Last year, 80 exhibitors presented rising talent from the Americas and Europe at (e)merge. More than 5,500 art supporters engaged with painting, sculpture, digital media, performance and installation works by 152 artists from 24 countries in both our gallery and our artist platforms.

The DC region is home to one of the nation’s wealthiest, youngest, most highly educated populations. (e)merge provides inside access to a rapidly expanding cultural market with immense economic power.

...and We're Back!

Sorry about the delays in between postings. I started a new job a few months back and it occupied a lot of my time. I was finally able to work out a new schedule with my boss, so that I can continue working on my artwork and making a living with the day job.

I know I missed quite a few Call for Entries, and several opportunities to showcase my art passed by as well. So now, that I'm back into the swing of things let's get this started! I'm ready to Rock-N-Roll again! Who's with me!
