Slideluck Potshow
DC Photographers:
The 8th installment of Slideluck DC is coming up this November, and we will once again be a featured event at FotoWeek DC. Slideluck combines slideshows from professional and amateur photographers with a potluck dinner, and provides a great opportunity to display your work to a wide audience, and to meet other photographers and photography lovers in the District. Our last FotoWeek show drew over 300 photography lovers, and we had a terrific time.
Slideluck accepts collections of images with some common theme, combined into a slideshow with a soundtrack of your choosing. Slideshows typically have 15 to 30 images, and the running time is usually 2 to 4 minutes. We only accept (and display) images in digital form.
Slideluck 8 will be an official Fotoweek DC event and will be held at Fotoweek Headquarters, which is in Malmaison, a new (and huge) restaurant/bar/arts space opening in Georgetown. Slideluck will take over the space on the night of Sunday, November 11th, for slideshows, potluck dinner, and our always fun party. Please see the email below for directions on how to submit your work--we expect over 200 paying attendees, and this is a terrific opportunity to display your work in the District (and get into our event with a guest for free!).

Slideluck DC VIII
We are currently seeking submissions for SLIDELUCK DC VIII!
-Presentations are a maximum of 5 minutes each, but most are much shorter,lo and we recommend between 15-40 images.
-There is no set theme for this event.
-Multimedia pieces are accepted, but no short films.
-Each artist who submits will receive a $15 discount on any new Viewbook subscription!
Selections will be made and artists notified at least two weeks in advance of the event. Any work that you submit to SLIDELUCK is added to our database. If you are not accepted for this show, we will consider your work for other upcoming SLIDELUCK events.
Step 1:
Upload your images. Click here for inspiration from past Slideluck events.
Step 3:
Click ’share’ in the main toolbar and select the Slideluck icon. This is where you will upload your audio file, fill out the form and pay the submission fee.
IMAGE GUIDELINES
-Images should be a minimum of 1024x768 pixels at 300ppi.
-We encourage all types of media that can be presented within this framework, be it painting, sculpture, or installation art.
Create the following jpegs:
a. Title slide- jpeg with your name and the title of the project (if applicable) for the beginning of your slideshow.
b. Music credit slide (jpeg).
c. End slide (jpeg) with your contact info, or representation.
Selections will be made and artists notified at least two weeks in advance of the event. Any work that you submit to Slideuck is added to our database. If you are not accepted for this show, we will consider your work for other upcoming Slideluck events.
MULTIMEDIA SUBMISSIONS
Multimedia submissions must be sent through WeTransfer. Please contact submissions[at]slideluckpotshow.com if you would like to make a multimedia submission. Note: We accept only Quicktime .mov files formatted at exactly 1024 x 768. They should be exported using he H.264 Codec, and be a maximum of about 250 MB, and no longer than 5 minutes. Please make sure that your piece begins with a clear title including your name, and ends with proper credits including contact information. We cannot accept Soundslides files, flash files or other formats.
