Artist Opportunity for Charity

The Working Proof

I love the concept of this website. They offer limited edition prints where a percentage of the sale goes to a worthy cause.

The Working Proof seeks to promote art and social responsibility. Each print is paired with a charity of the artist's choice, to which we are donating 15% of the sale of each print - creating what we believe to be a product with not just aesthetic, but social value. Besides showcasing emerging artists and great artwork, the intent of the Working Proof is to promote a variety of charities and to expose them to new supporters through the appreciation of art and creativity. We release a new print once a week, on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm, EST.

We seek to give our artists full creative control of their work by having them produce and sign the work themselves. Most of our artists create, print (by whatever method they choose - screenprint, letterpress, linocut, giclee, to name a few), sign and number a limited-edition print run that is exclusive to the Working Proof. The details of each print method are listed on the print's info page. Hand signing and numbering is a long-standing tradition for authorship and authenticity that we believe is an integral part of the process of printmaking, for both the artist and collector.

ARTIST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

If you are interested in working with us, please upload some samples of your work and your information via the artist submission form. Please send the following information:

Please keep the following in mind when submitting artwork for review:

- In order to be considered for the Working Proof, the works submitted should be relatively new and must not have been sold elsewhere.

- As the artist, you are responsible for the production of your print edition. We are open to any print medium (lithography, giclee, linocut, screenprinting, letterpress, photography, etc). Digital prints of original works are also acceptable. Please indicate the proposed medium for each artwork submitted below.

If we think that your work is a good fit for the Working Proof, we will contact you and supply you with the particulars of how the Working Proof collaborates with artists. Please do not send hard copies to us. Any unsolicited hard copies will not be returned to artists.

GOT ART?

Beef up your New York exhibition resume by donating an original 4" x 6" unframed piece of art (any medium) to The Creative Center's annual fundraiser, "GOT ART?". All artwork donated to the event will be sold for $25 and will benefit The Creative Center's mission to bring art to people with cancer and other chronic illnesses. GOT ART? will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 in Speyer Hall at University Settlement, 184 Eldridge Street, NY NY 10002.

To be showcased, all artwork must meet the following criteria:

• 4" x 6", all media, 4 pieces maximum
• UNFRAMED
• SIGNED on the back with artist's contact information
• MUST BE RECEIVED by Friday, September 16, 2011

Sell your art at GRACE!

Greater Reston Arts Center

Greater Reston Arts Center is pleased to announce an opportunity for artists to sell their works and split the proceeds with GRACE 50/50!

We welcome your participation and invite you to bring up to 5 works to GRACE! Click here to open the word document with submission guidelines and the participation form. Works will be accepted at GRACE Monday – Friday from 10am – 2pm until August 26, 2011.

We hope to see your works on our walls!

How to Participate

• Bring up to five (5) works that will sell for $100, $200 or $300.

• All works must be ready for display.

• Eligible works include but are not limited to; drawings, paintings, photography, printmaking, jewelry, glass, sculpture, and fiber arts.

• Giclées will be accepted and need to be clearly marked as reproductions.

• 2D works on paper must be framed and wired. All 2D work must have suitable hanging apparatus.

  • Artwork will be accepted at GRACE and you can deliver your work in person.

    • Monday - Friday between the hours of 10am – 2pm until August 26.

• Complete the C-Note Art Sale inventory form and include:

• Your full contact information including mailing address and email

• Title, medium, value and sales price of the donated piece(s)

Timeline of Event

• Donated work is exhibited and sold in the GRACE gallery September 9 -18, 2011

• GRACE will contact any artist if there is any unsold artwork after the sale.

• All work needs to be picked up by October 15, 2011

• GRACE will mail out artist commission checks by October 31, 2011

  • Artists will receive commission check and/or acknowledgement of donation for tax purposes If an artist donated the full proceeds to GRACE

  • Name and contact information of the collector who chose your work

Wilson 75th Anniversary Capital Campaign Craft Fair

On Saturday, October 15, 2011, from 10 am to 5 pm, we will celebrate the arts at the new Wilson High School.

Painters, potters, jewelry and textile artists, photographers, glassblowers, woodworkers, and other artisans are invited to sell their wares at the Crafts Fair or donate their fine art at the Artist Exhibition & Sale.

Submission deadline is September 1

We expect approximately 50 vendors.

Rent an indoor space of up to 10′ x 10′ for a fee of $75 (actual size of space to be determined with the vendor). You may bring your own tables or rent 3′x8′ tables from us for an additional $25 each.

Rent a smaller 3′x8′ indoor or outdoor table and space for a fee of $50 (outdoor space at vendor’s choice and weather-dependent).

Donate your work for sale at the Wilson Art Exhibition. We can make special arrangements if you wish to donate only a portion of sale proceeds or offer the item for display only. Visitors will view your work in the spectacular four-story glass atrium.

Please submit an Arts Fair Application along with your check by September 1, 2011. Also, review Artists’ Information for guidelines and details.

Call for Art: Arts for Arthritis Gala

I think this is a good cause. Plus it will add to my resume and get more attention for my artwork. I'm thinking of submitting two pieces.

The Arthritis Foundation, Mid Atlantic Region (MD) is issuing a call for donations for its Arts for Arthritis Gala, March 19, 2011.

Art can be put up for auction as a full donation, or 50/50 split. Artists set the value of their piece and the minimum bid.

Art work can be dropped off anytime after the 7th of March: 4720 Montgomery Lane, Suite 300, Bethesda, MD 20814.
