The Capitol Hill ART League presents its Third Annual Metro DC open juried exhibition: It’s a Wonderful World?

I am pleased to inform you that your works: Galadali; Altitude Attitude; and Contemplation were selected for inclusion in the exhibition. Additionally, Galadali has been awarded an Honorable Mention by the juror.

JUROR: F. Lennox Campello is a well-known and widely published DC area art critic, award winning artist and supporter of the visual arts. He is often heard on NPR and the Voice of America discussing art issues. Since 2003, his blog, Daily Campello Art News has been one of the most widely read art blogs on the web. He was the co-founder of the Fraser Galleries of Georgetown and Bethesda and is currently the co-owner of Alida Anderson Art Projects.

AWARDS: Awards will be decided by the judge and will include awards for ‘Best in Show’, ‘Merit’ awards and two Honorable Mentions will be awarded. All awards will be presented at the opening reception with the judge’s talk on Saturday, May 12, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

The Capitol Hill ART League (CHAL) is a program of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. Located in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood in Washington, DC, CHAL is composed of approximately 100 artists. Each season CHAL mounts a series of seven juried exhibitions and conducts gallery talks at the openings; CHAL hosts lectures on a variety of art related topics, offers workshops, and strives to develop a supportive artistic community. The greater Washington community is encouraged to participate in all of these events.

Another Award!!

During the art reception for "Impressions" at Falls Church Arts, I was notified that my piece "contemplation" received the Juror's Honorable Mention Award. He said he couldn't stop looking at it!!

The show is still going on until February 12th. Stop by and take a look at some of the other wonderful pieces on exhibit.

"Hands of Time" won an award in the Poconos!

I just got the notification that "Hands of Time" won an award for the Altered States show at PoconoArts in Pennsylvania!

Russ - congratulations, you are the recipient of the Curator Honorable Mention Award. Several awards were added because there was so much great work.

I know you live a distance away, but I hope to see you at some point during the show.

Hands of Time

Dying To Get In Reception

Join me tonite for the "Dying To Get In" art reception,
where I won First Place for Deadcandance!

Deadcandance is a triptych of three seperate images that can be arranged in any order. This series is currently ONLY AVAILABLE For Sale on my BLOG.

The show focuses on artwork based on the theme of the cemetery, any cemetery, and any media.

The reception will be at Springfield Mall near the information desk on the first floor. Come out and enjoy some wonderful artwork by many other artists.

The reception starts at 6pm

ENDEAVOUR WON THIRD PLACE

At the recent HOT reception, I was awarded third place for Endeavour. It was great just to get into the show, but to even place in the top three is a great feeling as well!! The exhibition runs until August 8th. When you get a chance come and see the other great pieces that depict the essence of "HOT".
