(e)merge Now Accepting Applications


I mentioned this awhile back, now it seems they finally have some updated information, and are accepting applications.
The (e)merge art fair celebrates galleries, artists, artists' work and the creative process. The Fair garners support from all corners of the artworld and aims to create an energetic environment of collaboration and discovery.

(e)merge will take place September 22 - 25, 2011, in Washington, DC, within blocks of the U.S. Capitol Building, at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. The Fair will feature dozens of international galleries and nonprofits in the Hotel rooms on designated exhibition floors. Throughout the Hotel's public areas and grounds, (e)merge will provide exhibition space, free of charge, for vetted works in various media by artists who are currently not represented.

Artist Applications
Artists wishing to apply must be currently unrepresented by a gallery and may not have had a solo museum or Kunsthalle exhibition. Please note that artists will be provided with exhibition space in public areas throughout the Capitol Skyline including: outdoor lawn, ramps, fences, lobby, hallways, lounge, pool deck, restaurant, banquet halls and parking garage. All submissions will be reviewed by an international vetting committee and the decisions of the committee are final. To download an artist application please click here (PDF)

All applicants are required to submit the following information as part of the application
a)The completed application form – signed and dated.
b) A one to two paragraph description of the project being proposed for exhibition at (e)merge.
c) A visualization of the project
d) Five (5) images of artist’s work (images must be submitted on CD, DVD or flash drive and must be both MAC and PC compatible. Please be sure each image is 300 dpi and at least 3 inches. Please do not include images
that are more than 3 MB in the application).
e) Applicant’s bio / CV including City and State/Province and Country of Residence.
f) The $55 application fee and Application Fee Payment Authorization Form.

Applicants will receive notification of receipt of application by email. If an application has been sent and you do not receive confirmation of receipt, please email info@emergeartfair.com.
