Call for Entry: Art Uniting People - A Celebration of Creativity and Mental Health

Entry form due: Thursday, April 12, 2012.

The Anti-Stigma HOPE Campaign is celebrating National Mental Health Month with "Art Uniting People - A Celebration of Creativity and Mental Health," an art exhibition dedicated to making a difference. It provides people whose lives have been affected by mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and substance use disorders the opportunity to use art as a form of expression in order to engage the Alexandria community in a conversation about mental health issues. Artists are invited to share the inspiration behind their art pieces and some of their personal story. For details, visit: healthieralexandria.org/AntiStigma/content.aspx?id=44222

Calling all artists!
Artists of all ages -- young and old --are invited  to participate.  Artists may enter a diverse range of art pieces including all the different mediums in painting as well as sculpture, drawings, ceramics, photography and writing.  Artists are also invited to share the inspiration behind their art pieces and some of their personal story to help viewers understand their perspective and the impact of mental illness on their lives.
