TAM Art Gallery CFA

Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery

PERSONA  (January – April 2013): This exhibition, which is open to visual art in every medium, will investigate how artists externalize the human psychological self, by utilizing color, line, space, composition, pattern, style, materials as well as subject matter and symbolism to present the inner feelings and personality of themselves or others. In conjunction with the exhibition, the Poets and Writers Fund and the Art, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology and World Languages and Cultures programs at the College, will present events such as a poetry reading and master class; the Ingmar Bergman film, Persona; and a panel discussion representing a variety of visual and performing arts to further investigate how art manifests the inner self. Please follow the above submission requirements. Please submit by October 1, 2012 to artgallery@cse.edu and put the title of the show in the subject line of your email.

Additional Upcoming CFA's

NOCTURNES  (June – August 2013): Images in every possible medium, representing, responding to or suggesting aspects of the night, are sought for this summer exhibition that will explore the beauty, mystery, amusement as well as the darker side of “night.” Please follow the above submission criteria. Please submit by February 1, 2013 to artgallery@cse.edu and put the title of the show in the subject line of your email.

HELD AGAINST OUR WILL  (September – November 2013): In response to the horror of captivity because of political or social problems, uprisings and war, this exhibition will explore and document art that represents the terror of persons who have been kidnapped, captured,  imprisoned, tortured and/or killed because of their religion, race, ethnicity, gender or political viewpoints. The exhibition will coincide with the College’s Holocaust Week of Remembrance in November and will respond to that as well as to other examples of the injustice of  “man versus man” in even more recent times. Please follow the above submission requirements.  Please submit by June 1, 2013 to artgallery@cse.edu and put the title of the show in the subject line of your email.
